Catherine Farrelly - Physiotherapist
Catherine is a Chartered Physiotherapist who also works at the Royal United Hospital, Bath. Originally from Ireland, Catherine studied at Cardiff University and graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Physiotherapy (BSc in Physio). Catherine has a broad range of experience and specialism in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and women’s pelvic health, and a special interest in helping our middle-aged and older community members maintain muscle mass, strength and condition.
Catherine has a background in dance, pilates and yoga, providing a deep understanding of body movement, flexibility and form, all of which she integrates into her physiotherapy practice. This movement-focused foundation allows her to approach rehabilitation from a perspective that emphasises strength, mobility, and body awareness - key components for long-term recovery and injury prevention.
Catherine applies a creative approach to therapy, helping patients return to their preferred activities - whether that’s sports, daily life tasks, or simply feeling more confident. In her NHS role, she works with a diverse patient population, managing conditions ranging from joint and muscle pain to complex rehabilitation cases. In private practice, she focuses on tailored treatments, evidence-based therapies and personalised exercise programmes for clients seeking relief from MSK issues and/or pelvic health concerns and clients wishing to maintain strength & prevent de-conditioning during middle age onwards.
As a passionate advocate for women’s health, she has specialised training in pelvic health, supporting individuals especially through pregnancy and post-partum recovery. By combining manual hands-on therapy, exercise prescription, and education, she provides compassionate and effective care to help women reclaim their health and well-being.
Outside of clinical practice, Catherine continues to expand her knowledge base by regularly attending workshops and advanced training in both MSK and pelvic health, ensuring she continually provides the highest standard of care.
For Catherine, physiotherapy is not just about treating the body - it’s about empowering people to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. Being part of that journey is incredibly rewarding and inspires her every day to keep learning, evolving, and offering the best care possible.
